OUR INSECT PROTEIN:
WHAT KIND OF INSECTS?
Our recipes use Black Soldier Fly Larvae - a clincally backed, complete protein source with more protein than beef, more omegas than salmon, and more iron than spinach.
WHAT DOES IT TASTE LIKE?
Black Soldier Fly Larvae have a savoury, malty flavour similar to sesame or peanuts. Dogs love the natural flavour - 9/10 dogs chose insect protein over chicken-based food.
CAN YOU SEE INSECTS IN THE FOOD?
Nope! Our food looks like regular dog food - Our dry food is a traditional kibble, and our wet food is a steam-cooked mince consistency.
WHERE AND HOW ARE THE INSECTS FARMED?
Our insects are farmed in highly sustainable vertical farms in Cambridgeshire, producing 96% less CO2 than traditional livestock.
IS THIS JUST A TREND?
We certainly don't think so! Insects have been eaten in different parts of the world for centuries. Plus, with their high quality nutrition profile & game-changing results for sensitive dogs, insect protein is the future of sensitive-first, sustainable nutrition.
HEALTH & NUTRITION:
DOES INSECT PROTEIN HAVE ALL
THE NUTRIENTS MY DOG NEEDS?
Insect Protein is approved by the British Veterinary Association as a complete source of protein for dogs - it's got more protein than beef, more omegas than salmon, and more iron than spinach. With it's high suitability for dogs with allergies and sensitivities - it's a no-brainer for sensitive dogs.
IS INSECT PROTEIN VET APPROVED?
The British Veterinary Association recognises the potential contribution of insect protein in addressing the rising need for sustainable human food and animal feed. Additionally, We work with independent vets and nutritionists to make sure every recipe contains all the nutrients your dog needs to thrive.
HOW DOES INSECT PROTEIN
COMPARE TO HYDROLYZED PROTEIN?
Insect protein is a novel protein - a unique protein source that most dogs haven't been exposed to. This means that most dogs won't have developed allergies to it, making it a naturally hypoallergenic protein for dogs.
Hydrolyzed protein sources can also be okay for allergy-prone dogs. Chicken, for ex., goes through hydrolysis - a chemical process where the amino acids are broken into smaller parts, creating a version of chicken that's less likely to cause reactions.
Hydrolyzed protein can still cause reactions for highly sensitive dogs, and hydrolyzed recipes often rely on added palatants for flavour. Insect recipes are naturally hypoallergenic & tasty, and have added anti-inflammatory and gut-friendly benefits that provide more support for sensitive dogs.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO SEE THE
HEALTH BENEFITS?
It varies dog-to-dog, but most dogs see improved skin and gut health around 3 months after transitioning to an insect protein diet.
Sensitive dogs need time for their systems to adjust and for external results to show. Our diets aren't designed as a quick-fix, temporary solution - they're made to support sensitive dogs long-term & provide results that last a lifetime.
